Physiotherapy Unit in Neurosurgery

About

H.U. The Neurosurgery Rehabilitation Unit, which continues its activities under the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department of the Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, started its activities in 1990 and is still in the H.Ü. It provides rehabilitation services to adult and pediatric patients who are hospitalized and/or come to the outpatient clinic of the Neurosurgery Department. Physical therapy and rehabilitation approaches are applied in order to increase the functional capacity, independence in daily living activities and quality of life of the patients, to prevent the complications that may occur due to their diseases and to prevent the complications that may occur. In the Neurosurgery Rehabilitation Unit, patients with neurosurgery-related diseases such as intracranial tumour and spinal tumour, spinal, head and general body traumas, intracranial hemorrhages, spinal and intracranial vascular malformations, spinal cord injuries and spinal pathologies and who need rehabilitation are provided with treatment services. Along with this, scientific studies are also carried out in these fields. However, H.U. It is also studied as a part of the Glial Tumor Surgery team with the "Awake Craniotomy and Brain Mapping Method" conducted by the Neurosurgery Department. At the same time in our unit, H.U. In the Institute of Health Sciences, Neurology Physiotherapist Master's and Doctorate programs, master's and doctorate studies are also carried out, and postgraduate students are also given training. In addition, with the Instructor Placement program, the faculty members who come to our faculty are given training, and they are sent to the universities they belong to after graduating at a level that can provide education. Scientific studies are also carried out with the academic staff and postgraduate students working in our unit, the scientific results obtained from the studies are presented at international/national congresses and published as research articles in international/national journals. In our unit, book editor and chapter writer are also done.
